About

I am committed to guiding individuals and couples on your journey towards emotional healing and personal growth. I specialize in integrating Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) to foster meaningful transformations. As an ACT practitioner, I prioritize creating a safe and supportive environment where you can explore your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors without judgment. ACT encourages mindfulness and acceptance, helping you to identify your values and take committed actions toward a more fulfilling life. I believe in the power of acceptance as a catalyst for change, guiding you to embrace your inner experiences with compassion. This approach can be particularly beneficial for those struggling with anxiety, chronic pain, or stress. I use Emotionally Focused Therapy in my work with couples. This approach draws from attachment theory and neuroscience to help you deepen intimacy, and build stronger, more fulfilling connections. We’ll work together to identify patterns in your relationship, enhance communication, and strengthen your bond. My goal is to help you and your partner cultivate a secure attachment, enabling you to navigate challenges collaboratively. My goal is to create a safe space for you to explore your emotions, thoughts, and experiences without judgment. I believe in the inherent capacity for growth within you and am dedicated to supporting you on your journey towards self-discovery and transformation. If you’re ready to take the next step in your personal or relational journey, I invite you to reach out. Together, we can work towards a life that aligns with your values and fosters deep emotional connections. As a Professional Counselor Associate, meaning I am working towards full licensure in Oregon, I am supervised by Julie Branaugh, MA, LPC. We can talk more about this in a consultation call or in a first session. Please let me know if you have any questions about this. ~~~~ A Note on Rates & Financial Considerations I strive to make my services as accessible as possible. Utilizing health insurance for your care can have both advantages and disadvantages. The benefits include increased accessibility, convenience, and reduced out-of-pocket expenses, among others. It's important to understand, however, that insurance companies typically adhere to a medical model for mental health treatment. This means they require a covered mental health diagnosis for reimbursement, often placing limits on your care, such as restricting the number of sessions per year. Additionally, while the Affordable Care Act (ACA) currently offers some protections, a mental health diagnosis becomes part of your medical record and may be classified as a pre-existing condition. Opting for private pay allows you greater freedom in your therapy journey. You can decide when to start and end therapy, whether to pursue a diagnosis, and gain access to support for issues like self-esteem, relationship challenges, marital counseling, and personal growth—areas often deemed "not medically necessary", and therefore not covered, by insurance providers. Additionally, private pay enables me to focus my energy on helping you achieve your goals rather than navigating the complexities of insurance approvals. That said, insurance remains the best choice for many people. I am happy to provide referrals for those individuals needing to utilize insurance. I also adhere to the American Counseling Association's Code of Ethics regarding client financial need (A.10.c) when establishing my fees. I am a member of Open Path Collective (https://openpathcollective.org/) and can provide members of Open Path a reduced rate. If you have Out-Of-Network (OON) benefits, I can provide a superbill for reimbursement. I recommend reaching out to your insurance provider to understand your OON coverage and the benefits available to you. ~~~~ If you have any questions, feel free to reach out! My priority is supporting you in finding a good, therapeutic fit for you.
